About Me

Since qualifying as a teacher, I’ve worked for the STEP Academy Trust, and I’ve used Sounds-Write in the classroom since 2015 in Reception, Year 1 and Year 5; I’ve been lucky enough to see how Sounds-Write can transform the teaching of reading and writing across several settings. I have a First Class BA (Hons) in Primary Teaching from Kingston University and a Master of Arts in Educational Practice from the University of Roehampton.

As well as working for Sounds-Write as a trainer, I am Senior Lead for Teacher Development at The STEP Ahead Teaching School Hub, where I teach on their Teacher Education (PGCE) and Teacher Development (ECT and NPQ) programmes. In 2019, I was appointed as the TSA’s specialist leader of education for phonics, English and leadership of CPD.

I’m currently reading for a second Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics and Communication at Birkbeck, University of London.
