Since qualifying as a teacher, I’ve worked for the STEP Academy Trust, and I’ve used Sounds-Write in the classroom since 2015 in Reception, Year 1 and Year 5; I’ve been lucky enough to see how Sounds-Write linguistic phonics can transform the teaching of reading and writing across several settings. I have a First Class BA (Hons) in Primary Teaching from Kingston University and a Master of Arts in Educational Practice from the University of Roehampton.
As well as working for Sounds-Write as a trainer, I am the Reading Development Lead for STEP Ahead Teaching School Alliance where I teach on their Teacher Education (PGCE) and Teacher Development (NQT, NQT+1 and NPQ) programmes. Last academic year, I was appointed as the TSA’s specialist leader of education for phonics, English and leadership of CPD.
